Accommodation

Residential:

▖Students will stay in twin or single rooms depending on the course booked. In some residences triple rooms are available during the summer and these must be requested in writing.

▖Boys and girls are accommodated on separate floors supervised by school staff.

▖Breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal provided.

Homestay:

▖Twin rooms.

▖Breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal provided.

▖Weekly laundry.

Students aged 16 or over may be placed in Private Homes. These are homestays who host more than 4 students. Private homes offer meals and laundry but may offer a reduced opportunity to interact with hosts due to the number of guests

The English + Football course is part of the Cambridge Juniors course. Students join in with the classes on the Cambridge Junior course and stay in the same accommodation. In the afternoons and on Sundays there is an intensive football course with our English FA qualified coaches.

Football Training

The English + Football course is open to boys & girls of all ability levels and incorporates technical and tactical player development, nutritional advice to increase fitness levels and small sided matches in high intensity tournaments to improve passing, speed of movement, technique and game understanding. Coaching sessions will consist of warm-up and reaction games followed by technique training drills in passing, dribbling, shooting, attacking & defending and small-sided matches. Our English Football Association trained coaches have the experience and understanding to cater for the needs of the group and ensure that children are happy and developing their skills. The sessions focus on improving the following development skills:

  • Coordination
  • Balance
  • Agility
  • Teamwork
  • Confidence
  • Listening and communication skills

Minimum 1 coach to every 10 students. 16 hours of training over a two-week course.

English Lessons

20 full hours teaching per week.
Maximum class size of 12.
Elementary – Advanced levels.
Reports and certificates.

Placement Test

On your first day, you will take a short written test and have an interview with a teacher so that we assess your level of English and choose the best class for you.

English Classes

Our English classes are based on our school’s topic based syllabus. You will develop your language skills while discussing topics that are relevant and interesting to you. You should expect to work in pairs and groups regularly, and take part in class discussions and other activities that make learning enjoyable and fun. Classes will help you to:

  • Expand your vocabulary
  • Increase your grammatical accuracy
  • Improve your pronunciation
  • Gain confidence in using English in every situations

Project classes

In our project classes, you will use English to work on a project together with your class mates. You will be able to choose the focus of your project with help from your teacher. Popular projects include:

  • Creating a school magazine
  • Surveys of Select staff or members of the public
  • Making a guide to Cambridge for future students
  • Preparing a presentation on your hometown
